Team Q&A: Graham Park – Software Engineer

Whether he’s focused on enhancing cybersecurity to help utilities fight climate change or learning about AI, join us in welcoming our newest Software Engineer, Graham Park!

What did you do before joining Virtual Peaker?

Software and security have always played major roles in my career. Most recently, I worked at Capital One, first as a security analyst on a team that monitored for security incidents, then as a software engineer on a team building a financial assistant powered by AI. Prior to that, I received my Bachelor’s in Computer Science with a focus on security from Purdue. During college, I worked at Proofpoint, an enterprise security company, as a software engineer and malware analyst.

What’s your role at Virtual Peaker?

I’m a software engineer. Virtual Peaker is a growing entrepreneurial company, so every day I’m developing new software solutions for the company and our clients. Given my experience with cybersecurity, I’m also taking on a leadership role with our extensive and ongoing focus on security. For me, Virtual Peaker represents the perfect blend of three of my top passions—security and software, of course, but also helping the environment by making companies’ transitions to renewable energy easier.

What else can you share?

I enjoy sharing my software engineering skills and knowledge with aspiring coders as a volunteer mentor at Code Louisville. Otherwise, I tend to rotate through hobbies, ranging from collecting and playing board games to photography. During the pandemic, I’ve taken advantage of the extra quarantine time to do lots of reading. I enjoy most any type of nonfiction, as well as science fiction and dystopian novels, including Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, 1984, and The Three-Body Problem.
