We are thrilled to be joined by our newest team member, Ken Slattery!
What did you do before joining Virtual Peaker?
I’m a home energy efficiency expert with a couple of decades experience in the green building industry. I’ve always used the whole-house approach, which is a great fit on the program side for our utility clients seeking to offer reduced environmental impact, lower costs, and comfort to their customers.
What’s your role at Virtual Peaker?
As the business development manager for Virtual Peaker, I help drive innovation in a rapidly changing energy market while making it easier for utilities to steward environmental and customer resources. I’ve managed a number of energy efficiency programs myself, so I know how to get things done. Virtual Peaker’s “can-do” culture means that we provide flexible solutions and we’re always looking for ways to customize how we can work together.
What else can you share?
I went to the University of Kentucky, where I played on the soccer team. One of my wildest job experiences was working as a “video kayaker” to capture some hair-raising moments for clients trying to navigate Class V whitewater rapids—and not always succeeding—on the New and Gauley rivers in West Virginia.
Things are a bit tamer now, and I love coaching my 11-year-old son’s soccer and basketball teams. Every Saturday, I also enjoy helping my farmer buddy at the Original Bardstown Road Farmers’ Market, the oldest farmers’ market in Louisville. I hope to see you there!
